I recently shared a little-known tip on Reddit for Audible users who were thinking about canceling their subscription, and it received an overwhelming response, helping many people score some great deals.
So, if you are looking for how to cancel Audible membership, try this first.
Do This Before Canceling Audible Membership
Go to the Audible’s show Offers page before canceling, and you will see some exclusive discounted deals to keep your membership.
My annual plan was about to expire, and these are the offers I received.

But instead of selecting one of the offers, I clicked the “Contact Customer Support” option at the bottom of the page to speak with customer service, and it paid off.
The rep offered me a special discounted annual membership for $99.95 + tax (12 credits for 12 months). That’s a $50 discount off the regular $149.95 price.
I asked if they could do even better and they added 1 bonus credit, giving me 13 credits for the year at no extra charge.

Needless to say, I decided to stay.
You may still want to go ahead and cancel your subscription. This article explains how to cancel Audible subscription on the website or through the app, but first, here are a few things you need to know before canceling your subscription.
- Use All of Your Credits: You will lose all unused credits after canceling your membership. So, make sure to use all the credits you have.
- Return/ Exchange Audible Books: You need an active membership to return or exchange titles. If you’ve been thinking about swapping a book, do it before you cancel.
- Consider Alternatives: You can pause your membership instead of canceling (more on this in our pause vs cancel article). This gives you 3 extra months without any monthly payments. Another option is to downgrade your plan to a more affordable tier.
There is no limit on how many times you can cancel and reactivate your Audible membership.
Canceling might be a better choice If you have a backlog of audiobooks, want to explore alternatives, or just need a break.
It is important to know that you will keep all purchased Audible books (via credits or cash) after canceling but will lose access to the Plus Catalog titles.
